The Ideal Series celebrates the legendary artwork of renowned equine artist Orren Mixer (1920–2008). Each hand-painted model in the series is inspired by one of his iconic “ideal” horse breed portraits.

This edition honors the Pinto Horse, a breed as vibrant and diverse as its colorful coat patterns. Representing everything from elegant gaited saddle horses to spirited mules, the Pinto Horse Association of America showcases the versatility of this unique breed across five registration types.

Commissioned by the PtHA in 2000, Mixer’s Pinto painting captures the breed’s spirit, variety, and timeless appeal. Today, the original artwork can be admired at the Pinto Heritage Museum in Bethany, Oklahoma.
